Wednesday, January 18th is the first day to file an application for a place on the May 6, 2017 General Election ballot. The last day to file for a place on the ballot is Friday, February 17. February 21st is the last day to file as a write-in candidate.
This year, two citizens will be elected at large to each serve a two year term as a Councilmember for Places 2 and 4. The incumbents for these positions are Kay Teer and Jay Haynes respectively. Additionally, the position of Mayor is up for election currently held by Peggy Krueger. Please note that the places are not geographically based. The terms of office will be from May of 2017 to May of 2019.
