Hello, Summer!Have you seen our resident animals cooling off in ponds lately? That's a sure sign that summer has officially begun and it is HOT! Thankfully, summer activities abound in Denton County. Check out what your family can do .... As temperatures continue to rise, remember heat safety for yourself, the little ones and your four legged friends. If the heat drives you to a swimming pool, practice pool safety. Need help with that? Argyle's local favorite, Swimming Fishies Swim School, has already taught hundreds of area children how to swim and stay safe in the water. Did you know that formal swim lessons between ages of 1 and 4 have been shown to help reduce the risk of drowning by 88%! If home improvement is on your schedule for this summer, we've listed a few Argyle Business Alliance companies that can help. Shop Local, Support Argyle!

Meet Your Town CouncilWe've had such fun introducing our readers to the great staff working for you at Town Hall! So much fun that we decided to include some of our Councilmembers in the spotlight. This month, we're getting to know Chad Boyd, Place 3. When tossed some silly ice breakers, we learned more about Chad Boyd than ever!
What is your favorite color? Blue and gray. I like blue for clarity, and gray because not everything in life is white and black. Favorite movie? Braveheart, Gladiator, American Sniper, Sound of Freedom, and the list goes on… Favorite band? Geez no clue. I like all genres of music and it’s completely dependent on mood. What's your favorite local restaurant or food truck, and what dish do you always order? I’m a meat eater. I love a good steak medium rare.1845, Kirby’s’ Steakhouse, Perry’s, Capitol Grille If you could go back in time and visit one person, who would it be? My father. I don’t remember much about him other than what people have shared. He died in a car accident when I was a child. What advice would you give to young people interested in getting involved in local politics or public service? Its not about you. it’s about us. Also, get into it for the right reasons. For the betterment of the community. What's the funniest request or complaint you've received from a resident during your time on the council? I was asked if I could make the train stop choo-choo’ing! Thanks for playing, Chad! We enjoyed getting to know you!

It remains the same - complete with the Post Office sign! Visit Gypsy Caravan to see their complete history display of Argyle. Pick up some vintage, pottery and gift items while you're there.
