Operating hours at Argyle Town Hall, the Public Works Administration, and the records department of the Argyle Police Department will change on a trial basis beginning the week of January 2, 2023, as the town tests out a compressed work schedule for employees.
The hope is to allow for extended hours to residents and patrons of Town Hall and improve staff's work/life balance. The new hours will allow for later hours in the evening for residents:
Monday through Thursday, operating hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the hours for Friday will be 8:00 a.m. to Noon.
Staff will update the Council in April regarding the hours and feedback from staff and residents. Cities throughout the state are seeking flexible/compressed work schedules, such as this, to allow for better recruitment, retention, and the benefit of extended hours for residents.
