ARGYLE, TX (November 9, 2022) – During the Town Council meeting on Monday, November 7, the Council heard from Public Works Director Robert White and Community Development Director Nabila Nur as they highlighted their department’s activities over the past fiscal year. Council and Staff discussed the regular meetings of the Council and determined the temporary change of two meetings a month was no longer needed. The Council voted to revert back to the once a month meetings and chose the third Monday of each month as the set day.
Town Comp Plan Update
Town Council approved an agreement with Freese and Nichols, Inc. to begin the process of updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. A comprehensive plan is an expression of the community’s vision for the future and a strategic map to reach that vision. The process will include community input at public meetings, the creation of a Joint Review Committee, and workshops with the Town Council. The anticipated completion of the project is July 2023.
Zoning Board of Adjustment Board Changes to Citizen Membership
The Town Council approved an ordinance to change the composition of the ZBA to a citizen board. Currently, the board consists of Town Council members with the exception of the mayor, who attends only in the absence of another. The board will consist of five regular members and two alternate members. The body serves as an appeal body concerning zoning decisions and is governed by Chapter 211 of the Local Government Code.
