Overview
The Zoning Board of Adjustment is created in accordance with Chapter 211, Section 211.008, of the Texas Local Government Code and consists of 5 members and 2 alternate members residing within the Town and appointed by simple majority vote of the Town Council (Ordinance No. 2022-23 approved November 7, 2022) The Board meets on an as-needed basis.
Powers & Duties
The Zoning Board of Adjustment may hear and decide an appeal that alleges error in certain decisions and matters made by an administrative official of the Town in the enforcement of provisions of the Texas Local Government Code; hear and decide special exceptions to terms of the zoning ordinance; authorize in specific cases a variance from the terms of the zoning ordinance; and hear and decide matters authorized by an ordinance adopted under the Texas Local Government Code. Applications
Beginning January 3, 2023, the Town of Argyle will use a new permitting software iWorQ. Permits, contractor registrations, and development projects will no longer be accepted through the permits@argyletx.com email account, employee email account, or in person at Argyle Town Hall.
