Janna Weaver Nutrition

JW Nutrition

Meet the Argyle Business Association's Business Spotlight for the month of August - Janna Weaver Nutrition. Get to know more about the business in the Q&A we had with owner Janna Weaver!

How long has your business been open?

I started this nutrition private practice as a solo provider at the end of 2019. At the beginning of 2022, I added two additional registered dietitians. The three of us see clients virtually or in-person at our Argyle office.

What led you to open your business?

Since I was young, I have always had a passion for nutrition. In 2004, I earned a pre-med bachelor of science degree and became a registered dietitian nutritionist. For many years I worked with weight management and corporate wellness programs but always dreamed of being able to help people on a more individual level. Now after 15 + years of experience and walking through my own health journey I’ve established Janna Weaver Nutrition & Wellness to help individuals make lasting change. By sitting down with clients one-on-one I get to build customized nutrition plans and help individuals really take action to improve their weight, health and achieve personal goals.

What is your favorite part about working/living in Argyle?

I have a lot of Argyle favorites! Most of all I love all the relationships I’ve made while both living and working here. It’s so fun that our worlds connect, and I get to do life with friends – we workout together, we go to church together, we cheer on the Eagles together and we support each other in life and business. I’m so thankful for the small-town feel, local businesses, and our amazing schools and neighborhoods.

What is an interesting fact about your business?

As registered dietitians we are recognized as the experts in our field and can be credentialed with insurance carriers. In my practice we have obtained this credentialing and accept major brands such as: BlueCross BlueShield, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna, and Medicare. Most insurance plans consider nutrition counseling to be a preventative service and cover at 100% with no client responsibility. We assist clients with verifying insurance benefits to determine service coverage prior to their initial session. For self-pay clients we offer a discounted cash rate as well.
